Mary Ann La Fountaine, age 88, of S. CR 7, Tiffin, Ohio passed away peacefully at 12:55 PM, Tuesday September 9, 2008 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on August 4, 1920 to the late John and Josephine (Theis) Feck. On June 3, 1944 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown she married Peter F.
La Fountaine and he died April 8, 1993.
Survivors include: four sons, Gerard, Glen, and Kevin La Fountaine all of Tiffin; Eric La Fountaine of Vancouver, BC, Canada; four daughters, Jean Vera of New Riegel, Leona Gegenheimer of Tiffin, Karen (Rick) Hoffman of Fostoria and Ramona Schock of Olympia, WA; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Norbert Feck of Frenchtown; and one sister, Anna Osborn of Frenchtown.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda La Fountaine; six brothers, Albert, Edward, Joseph, Peter, Herman and Robert Feck; and a sister, Rose Gruss.
Mary Ann was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of All Saints Parish of New Riegel, the Catholic Knights of Ohio and was a member of the former St. Boniface Church choir and the Rosary Altar Society. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, sewing, bingo and traveling. In her traveling adventures, she was often accompanied by her twin sister, Anna Mary.
Mary Ann will always be remembered by her warm smile, her kind and gentle spirit, and always putting her family before her own self interests.
The Funeral Mass will be officiated by the Rev. Randy Giesige, at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2008 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel. Burial will be immediately following at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation, per family request.
