Mary Ann Kern, 83 of Tiffin, died at 1:25 pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

Mary Ann was born November 17, 1929 in Tiffin to Edward J. and Leona E (Frederitz) Werling. She married Francis A. Kern, February 4, 1956 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and he died March 20, 2000.

Mary Ann is survived by four sons, Larry J. Kern of Akron, Ken J. (Kim) Kern of Bowling Green, Ky., Steve F. (Jenn) Kern of Luckey, Ron A. Kern of Tiffin;  six grandchildren, Matthew, David, Lauren, Morgan, Michael, and Victor; two brothers, Robert F. Werling of Stewart, Ind., Gene J. Werling of Tiffin; three sisters, Regina M. Gassner of Tiffin, Rita L. Myrann of Phoenix Ariz., Donna R. Reimer of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Edward J., Paul J., Harold F., Gerald F. Werling and two sisters, Madeline A. Kiesel and Joyce L. Mortimer.

Mary Ann was a 1948 Calvert Catholic High School graduate, she retired from RCA in Findlay.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society, and Pastoral Care where she visited the sick. She also was a Eucharistic Minister.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-3113, with a Wake service at 8 pm.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 am Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka with the Rosary recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic High School or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
