Mary Catherine (Kern) Fox

Mary Catherine Fox, 88, of New Riegel, died at 10:05 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at her daughter’s residence in New Riegel.

She was born January 22, 1930, in New Riegel, to Anthony and Norine (Lucius) Kern.  She married Donald Reed Fox July 2, 1955, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel.  He died July 27, 2004.

Survivors include a son, Jeffery L. (Justine) Fox, and a daughter, Barbara A. (Barton) Crabtree, both of New Riegel; six grandchildren, Lynette, Jennifer, Joshua, Justin, and Jill Fox, and Brianna Crabtree; one great grandchild, Alana Fox; and three brothers, Luke and Carl Kern, both of Tiffin, and Alvin Kern of Findlay.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Rita Kern, and a brother, Francis Kern.

Mrs. Fox was a 1948 graduate of New Riegel High School and retired from General Electric Co. of Tiffin.  She was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Seneca Co. Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening and spending time walking around her family farm, The Century Farm.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory. 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the funeral home with the funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, New Riegel. Rev. Timothy Kummerer will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.  Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass.
