Mary C. Floyd, 85, of W. Market Street and formerly of Circular Street, Tiffin, died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born March 26, 1927 to Lewis and Bertha Keller in Tiffin. She married C. Arthur Floyd on May 30, 1952 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Greg (Susie) Floyd of Cincinnati and Gary (Heidi) Floyd of San Francisco, Calif.; three granddaughters, Emily, Erica, and Elinor Floyd; and a sister, Madlyn (Clyde) Miller of Norwalk. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and five sisters.
Mary was a 1942 Calvert High School graduate and a 1948 graduate of Providence School of Nursing, Sandusky. She had retired as a registered nurse. She worked for Dr. John Leahy and at Mercy Tiffin Hospital. She was also an Army Reserves Cadet Nurse. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, donating time in the Redwoods of California, needle pointing and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. The Professional Nurses Club will hold a service at 6 pm and a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the funeral home followed by the Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
