Mary Englehart, age 87, of Tiffin, Ohio, died December 18, 2001. She was born July 28, 1914, in Delphos, Ohio, to Frank and Clara (Hempfling) Schmelzer. Her husband, William W. Englehart, whom she married on August 28, 1937, died June 20, 1986. She is survived by 2 sons, John and Michael; a daughter, Suzanne Englehart; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rev. Sylvester, Arnold, and Henry Schmelzer; a sister, Adele Moran, and 2 infant sisters. She was a retired teachers assistant at the School of Opportunity, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society (Past President), Daughters of Isabella (Past Regent), Poor Souls Society, St. Francis Auxiliary, Public Employees Retirement System, Sandusky River Valley Police and Fire Retirees, Chapter 33, and enjoyed playing cards and puzzles, playing piano and singing, especially during the holidays. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church, or the Calvert Foundation.
