Marie T. Johannsen, 93, of 182 St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin,and formerly of 515 S. Clover Street, Fremont died at 5:00 p.m. on August 19, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Fairfield, Ohio.
She was born June 15,1910, in Fremont to Frank and Julia Mary (Borer) Etzel. She married Loyal H. Johannsen on February 24, 1970. He died October 27, 1988.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Harold Etzel, Edwin Etzel, Robert Etzel Anna Rose McDermott and Kathryn Chudzinski.
Mrs. Johannsen was a 1928 graduate of St. Ann's High School, Fremont. She also attended Virginia Farrel Hairstyling School in Detroit, Michigan, and White Cross Academy in Cleveland.
She was a beautician for many years in Fremont, Wakeman and Castalia. She loved to travel, cruise and she enjoyed casinos. She will be remembered by many for her generosity and kindnesses to those in need.
Mrs. Johannsen was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont.
The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday August, 23, 2003 in the St. Francis Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at St. Francis Home Chapel.
