Margaret M. (Keefe) Parkins

Margaret M. (Keefe) Parkins, 95, of Tiffin, died at 7:11 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born July 4, 1924, in Seneca County to Thomas and Anna (Hoepf) Keefe. She married Lloyd Parkins, July 6, 1943, at St. Joseph Rectory, and he died October 20, 1981.

Survivors include six sons, Ronald (Doris) Parkins of Maumee, Gerald (Terry) Parkins of Republic, Timothy (Jackie) Parkins of Tiffin, Anthony (Lindsay) Parkins of Tiffin, Christopher (Kara Delarber) Parkins of New Riegel, Brian (Laura) Parkins of New Riegel;  six daughters, Marcia (Joe) Wagner of Carey, Betty (David) Sanchez of Tiffin, Karen (Ed) Kuhn of Bascom, Ann Carr of Oregon, Jane (Mark) Morgan of Tiffin, Judy (Ted) Demars of Tiffin; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Hoepf of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Cindy Shultz; ten siblings, James Keefe, Joseph Keefe, Jerome Keefe, Thomas Keefe, Mary Graham, Cecelia Schleter, Martha Jankowski, Agnes Hohman, Louise O’Connor, and Anna Allen; a son-in-law, Richard Carr; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Sanchez, and Garrett Watcke.

Margaret was a homemaker and had worked at Tiffin Bake Shop and Bascom GEM.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid member of Tiffin Right to Life, and she was an accomplished seamstress.

Due to Covid19, a walk through visitation will be 3 to 7 pm Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.  Visitors are asked to walk through, pay respects, and exit without lingering.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2020, at the funeral home with Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader and Rev. Ed Schleter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Calvert Catholic Schools.
