Mabel M. Kightlinger, age 102, formerly of Minerva St., Tiffin, died at 11:58 pm, Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born June 24, 1904, in Green Springs, Ohio, to the late John H. and Anna (Wirth) Frank. In 1926, in Clyde, she married Lee Tuman, who died in 1953. On September 30, 1950, she married Walter Kightlinger, who died July 5, 1966.
Survivors include two daughters, Lela Mae Windau and Donna Jean Randall, both of Tiffin; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Henry Frank of Clyde.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Frank, and a sister, Mildred Knecht.
Mrs. Kightlinger was a graduate of Green Springs High School and the Bowling Green Normal School. She retired as a cook at the Daughters of America Home in Tiffin. Later she did housekeeping for various area residents. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. Her great joys in life were her family, always making a big garden, and sharing all her vegetables. She took great pride in having a big yard filled with flowers.
Funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. James Say officiating. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery. Friends may call 3 to 7 pm Tuesday, April 24, and from 9:45 to 10:45 am Wednesday, April 25, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. The Rosary will be recited in church fifteen minutes prior to Mass.
Memorial Contributions may be made a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
