Lucille F. Rice, 92, of Tiffin, died at 11:53 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
She was born April 7, 1931, in Tiffin, to Francis and Berniece (Kuhn) Schetter. She married Robert Lee Rice on July 8, 1950, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Robert died on December 21, 2006.
Lucille was a 1950 graduate of Calvert High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a longtime member of the mixed and funeral choirs and Daughters of Isabella. She taught painting classes both privately, at Flowers Naturally, and to 4th-grade students at St. Joseph Catholic School. Her artwork and painted saws hang in the homes of many area residents. A longtime supporter of the Seneca County Habitat for Humanity, working both locally and traveling many years to Coahoma, Mississippi, for annual building. A member of the Heart of Ohio Tole Society and Clinton Fire Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Roxanne) Rice of Sandersville, Georgia; two daughters, Ann (Ken) Jones of Tiffin and Janet McGee of Bloomville; 12 grandchildren, Kelly (John) Spahr, Bill (Kelli) Jones, Colleen (Justin) Neely Natallie Jones, Devonna Rice, Melissa (Jeremy Brose) Thompson, Mianda (Wyl) Price, Briana (Jason) DeVaughn, Trevor McGee, Joshua Rice, Bekki (Mike) Rogers and Aaron (Dakota) Rice; 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Schetter of Tiffin; and two sisters, Kathleen Keefe, and Marilyn Kastner, both of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Kevin Roszman II, a brother, Eugene Schetter, and three sisters, Judy Tiell, Geraldine Payne, and Christine Breidenbach.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883 (419) 447-3113. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Anthony Coci will officiate, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in church 30 minutes prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Choir or to Seneca County Habitat for Humanity.
