Laverne C. Sendelbach, age 93 formerly of Duchess Lane, Tiffin, Ohio died at 11:00 am Thursday, March 15, 2007 in St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was born on June 10, 1913 in Frenchtown, Ohio to the late Edward and Rose (Landoll) Tiell. On June 13, 1933 in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, she married Emerson Sendelbach. He died on December 3, 1979.
Survivors include two daughters, Alma (Charles) Everhart and Marjorie (Clayton “Pete”) Everhart both of Tiffin; two sons, Richard (Sandy) Sendelbach of Bascom; and John (Betty) Sendelbach of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and one brother, Francis (Maxine) Tiell of Tiffin.
Mrs. Sendelbach is preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Tiell and Sr. Edwardine Tiell; two brothers, Emmet and Emery Tiell, and four grandchildren are deceased.
Laverne retired in 1969 from the J.C. Penney Company, where she had worked as a retail clerk. She also had worked for Lee’s shoes for many years. Mrs. Sendelbach was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and its Rosary Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabella.
The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Rev. Richard Dunn at 11:00 am Saturday, March 17, 2007 at St. Francis Home Chapel, Tiffin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, Friday, March 16, 2007 from 5-8 pm at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. There will also be visitation from 10-11 am Saturday, March 17, at St. Francis Home Chapel.
