Lanarda Madonna Carp, 83, of St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio, died 5 a.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin. She was born July 8, 1928, in North Auburn, Ohio, to Henry and Julia “Lula” (Hertzer) Studer. She married Charles Carp, October 3, 1953, at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, North Auburn, and he survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marie (Joseph) Gubernath of Bucyrus; a son, Henry M. Carp of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Ed, Anne, and Dan Gubernath; and a sister-in-law, Jackie (Urban) Studer, of New Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joseph, Urban, Cyril, Cornelius Studer and a sister, Rosina Wagner. She was the last of her generation of the Studer family.
Lanarda was a graduate of New Washington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and its Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid card player and a member of the Card Club for over 50 years.
Visitation with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113. A Rosary service will be 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the funeral home, with the funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Calvert Catholic Schools in care of the funeral home.
