Kay E Hankins, 65, of Hudson Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 4:16 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Mercy Hospital. She was born August 2, 1940 in Duluth, MN to the late Charles A. & Genevieve L. (Dahl) Johnson. On June 25, 1960 in Endion United Methodist Church, Duluth, MN she married Karl Hankins and he survives.
Other survivors include a son Michael C. Hankins of Longmont, CO; two daughters; Victoria H. (Bernard) Kefer of Lancaster, PA; Shelly L. (Greg) Glover, Tiffin; seven grandchildren; Matthew, Christopher, and Elizabeth Kefer; Zachary Ferris, Meredith, Claire and Abigail Glover; two sisters; Patricia Eng of Duluth, MN; and Sandra Johnson of Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by a brother Clark Johnson and a grandson, Joshua Glover.
Mrs. Hankins was a 1958 graduate of East High School, Duluth, MN. She was trained at the Duluth School of Business and she taught there as well. She took many children; family and friends, into her heart by providing child care services for over 40 years.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Tiffin where she was member of the choir. She was a former member of Bethel UMC in Spring City, PA, Lake Villa UMC, Lake Villa, IL where she was the secretary.
She was a member of Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, and F.I.S.H.
The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Scott Hayward at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Tiffin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or to F.I.S.H. in care of Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
