Katherine L. Livoti, 85, of Dayton and formerly of Tiffin, died at 3:25 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Walnut Creek Nursing Center, Dayton.
She was born September 1, 1929, in Seneca County, to Clifford and Helen (Birch) Smith. She married William Helterbran, who preceded her in death. She married Joseph G. Livoti July 17, 1975, in Massillon, and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Larry W. Helterbran of Tiffin; two daughters, Michelle F. (Charles) Faruki of Dayton and Lisa M. (David) Corley of Miamisburg; a step son, Steven (Kathy) Livoti of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, Adam and Dayna Helterbran, Stacy Maderious (Helterbran) and Steve, Leslie (Zalar) Castorena and Nathan, Emily (Zalar) Baucom and Justin, Matthew Zalar, Tyler, Tess, and Travis Corley, Kara (Livoti) Perry and Nate, and Anthony and Tai Livoti; and eight great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Smith, and her parents.
Mrs. Livoti was a graduate of Columbian High School and the Mercy School of Nursing. She retired as a licensed practical nurse, after working 25 years with her husband as a surgical nurse. She had been a volunteer with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was an avid reader and loved movies. She enjoyed her expanding family, and in particular her grandchildren. In retirement she spent time with her close friends.
Visitation will be 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, with funeral services at 6:30 pm, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens at a later date.
