J.W. "Bill" Tjaden, 75, of 153 Schonhardt Street, Tiffin, died at 4:15 a.m.on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Parkview Nursing Home, in Fremont, Ohio. He was born on April 3, 1927 to John T. and Hilda (Knaack) Tjaden in East New Market, Maryland. In 1950 he married Grace E. Laird in Crestline. She died on March 3, 1998.
He is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Keith) Garvin of Fremont, Ohio and Jean Glover, of Tiffin; four sisters, Tillie Frase of Durham, NC Minnie Frase, Preston MD; Agnes Rorhke, Vacaville, CA and Helen Jackson, East New Market, MD; and 7 grandchildren.
Mr. Tjaden retired in 1984 as a machinist at Hanson Machinery Co. He later operated Tjaden Sharpening out of his home.
Contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene or to Community Hospice Care. An additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
