Julia M. Reimer, 96, formerly of Main Street, Tiffin, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at St. Francis Home.
Julia was born on May 11, 1913 to the late Joseph and Pauline (Myers) Jentgen in Tiffin. She married Paul F. Reimer on September 7, 1940 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died April 3, 1956.
Julia is survived by three sons, Paul Michael (Donna) Reimer, Fredrick (Rosemarie) Reimer, and Daniel (Mary) Reimer all of Tiffin; two daughters, Susan (Ronald) Mathias of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Martha (Mike) Samborn of Nashua, New Hampshire; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Louis, and Frederick Jentgen and two grandsons, James and George Reimer.
Julia was a 1931 graduate of Calvert High School, a 1934 graduate of Mount Carmel School of Nursing and a 1936 graduate of St. Mary of the Springs College. She also did graduate work at BGSU. She retired as a Registered Nurse and had taught nursing for 25 years at Providence Hospital, Sandusky. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, the Professional Nurses Club, the National Association of Retired Teachers, and Secular Franciscans.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 am Monday, December 14, 2009, at St. Francis Home Chapel, with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass Monday at St. Francis Home Chapel.
