Joyce Marie (Oberst) Bell

On the evening of Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 7:26 pm, God saw fit to call away the sweet spirit of Ms. Joyce Marie Bell, 87, of Tiffin to her heavenly home while at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Joyce was born June 4, 1928, in Fremont. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur Oberst and Helen (Cochenour) Dicicco. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Sherry Marie (Bell) Spencer and six siblings, Evelyn, Jean, Beverly, Phillip, Shirley and Alex.

Joyce leaves behind her brother, Michael Dicicco of Granada Hills, California; son-in-law, Jerry Spencer of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Mark Spencer, Scott Spencer, and Michele Spencer all of Tiffin; five great-grandchildren, Zach Kalafsky, Kayla Spencer, Madyson Spencer, Raven Spencer and Falon Spencer; also several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Bell was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, a dedicated former employee of General Electric and Tiffin Mercy Hospital. She was a person of strong faith; a member of the Allen Eiry Senior Center and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Tiffin.

Joyce was known as “Nanny” to her loved ones. She was a picture of iron-willed strength and a source of inspiration for many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking “special recipe” desserts, attending social events, dancing, and giving back to the community. She reserved much of her time and energy throughout her retirement crocheting beautiful blankets, hats and scarves that were generously donated to the Salvation Army and local students.

Funeral services will be private at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, with private burial at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
