Joy Ann (Bollinger) Hoke, age 91, of Tiffin, formerly of Fort Seneca, died at 7:20 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Joy was born May 29, 1931, in Tiffin, to Harold C. and Ruth E. (Dewald) Bollinger. On October 11, 1951, she married Robert R. Hoke, and he died March of 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Kathee) Hoke of New Jersey, Danny (Sandra) Hoke of Kentucky; two daughters, Marsha (Matt) Dandar of Tiffin, Connie Hoke of Findlay; five grandchildren, Ian (Katie) Hoke, Crystal (Mike) Vance, Laura Dandar, Danielle Dandar, Stephanie (Nick) Gabbard; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Hoke, Alexis Gabbard; and her beloved cat, Tattoo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a stillborn son, Jeffery L. Hoke.
Joy was a 1950 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and still got together with her classmates for lunch once a month until Covid. She graduated from the Tiffin (Warner) Hair Academy in 1951. Joy last worked at Tiffin University. She was a homemaker, a member of the Fort Seneca Community Church, YMCA, Moose, VFW, Humane Society and Am-Vets. Joy liked to swim, fish, play BINGO and read Harlequin paperbacks. She and her family spent summers at Catawba Island on Lake Erie for 47 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. LaMar Baker officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
