Joe attended Calvert High School. He received certification as a Computer System Specialist from Vanguard Sentinel Career Center through the Ohio Department of Education. He also received A+ computer certification from Terra Community College. Joe had been a Deputy Director for Seneca County Emergency Management Agency from 1997-1998. Joe was most recently a computer technician at Staples, in Findlay. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 608, Tiffin. He was certified in Disaster Awareness and was a certified Skywarn Spotter. Joe enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, and was an avid Ohio States fan; HAM radio operator; and train buff.
Joe is survived by two sisters, his twin, Kathleen (Don) Stewart of Bascom, and Mary (Tom) Puffenberger of Tiffin; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and his many friends at the lake, including his fishing buddies, Jeff and Tom Puffenberger.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Vogel.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 am, Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. The funeral will follow at 10 am with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
