John (Johnni) Franklin Carter, Sr. 66, of Tiffin, died at 10:12 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his residence. He was born March 9, 1955, in Tiffin to Edward and Donna Jean (Lee) Carter. He married Brenda Buskirk-Nutter, May 7, 2021, and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Johnni (Jolene) Carter, Michael (Paige) Carter both of Tiffin, Lester (Delaina) Barney of Akron, Cyle Carter of Tiffin; four daughters, Jennifer (Chad) Harris of Fostoria, Michelle (Jason Halcomb) Dunn of Kenton, Sara (Alex Lockett) Carter of Findlay, MaryLou (Christian) Potteinger of Tiffin; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tracy Carter and Troy Carter both of Tiffin; two sisters, Darlene Ward and Susan Carter-Mizen both of Tiffin and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Edward Carter, Jr.
John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972-1975. He worked at Hayes-Albion in Tiffin and was a member of the Amvets, V.F.W., Eagles, D.A.V., and the Moose. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Graveside services at Fairmont Cemetery by the United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County will be 1:30 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021.
