John was born September 28, 1935 to William and Margaret (Wahl) Fingerhuth in Tiffin. He married Lavina Batchlet April 23, 1969 in Upper Sandusky. She survives.
Other survivors include two step-sons, Ralph J. Turner of New Mexico, Delbert (Lori) Kunz of Tiffin; a daughter, Kimberly (Daryl) Schwochow of Tiffin; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Maria Turner; three step-brothers, Robert, William and James Fingerhuth.
John was a 1954 graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He had worked at Kroger and was a retired self-employed maintenance man.
There will be no services at this time, John donated his body to the University of Toledo Medical Center, with the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113, assisting with those arrangements.
