John Cleveland, 82, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg.
John was born January 25, 1934, in Tiffin, to Helen (McCoy) and Hugh Cleveland. He married the love of his life Carol Krupp January 29, 1955, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Kelly (Dan) Steyer of Maumee, John (Cindy) Cleveland of Twinsburg, and Joe (Barb) Cleveland of Perrysburg; siblings Joan Moulton, Betty Fry and Thomas Cleveland; six grandchildren, Jason Steyer, Eric (Lisa) Steyer, Adam (Lauren) Steyer, Alex Cleveland, Andrea Cleveland, Sabrina Cleveland and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Steyer. His extended family included many brothers at the AM Vets, Elks, and Eagles Clubs of Tiffin.
John was a 1951 graduate from Tiffin Columbian High School. He was drafted into the US Army November 13, 1956, and was stationed at Fort George Meade, Maryland. Following his discharge, he went to work for Basic, Inc. in Maple Grove and Bettsville.
John took great pride in always believing that there was nothing he couldn't fix, a trait to which he passed on to his two sons. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, working on various projects around his house and spending time with his family and friends.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Faith United Methodist Church, 75 N. Sandusky St., Tiffin, OH.
