Jerome L. Kimmet, age 90 of S. St. Rt. 53, Tiffin, Ohio died at 8:30 P.M. Thursday, September 16, 2004 in St. Francis Home, Tiffin. He died on the 12th anniversary of his wife’s death. On May 15, 1914 in Seneca County, Ohio, he was born to George and Loretta (Sendlebach) Kimmet. On August 24, 1938 in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, he married Dolores Nye. She died on September 16, 1992.
Survivors include, 2 sons, Eldon G. (Marge) Kimmet of Prospect, Ohio; James L. (Catherine) Kimmet of Ypsilanti, Michigan; 2 daughters, Mrs. Patricia (Paul) Kollner of Cincinnati, Ohio; Miss Norma Jean Kimmet of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Alfred Kimmet of Genoa, Ohio; Norbert Kimmet of Fostoria, Ohio and 1 sister, Genevieve Holman of Fostoria, Ohio.
He is predeceased by 1 daughter Elizabeth Ann Kimmet, 2 brothers, Oliver and Ralph Kimmet and 1 sister, Mrs. Margarite Boes.
Mr. Kimmet was a farmer and he had retired in 1979 as a machinist from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Burial will take place immediately following the Mass in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery, Liberty Township, Ohio.
There will be a Wake Service on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.
