J. Elatha (Dolan) Plaskett, 81, of Tiffin, formerly of Canton, was taken home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, in the St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born in Buffalo, Ohio, July 20, 1925, to the late Timothy and Laura Elatha Dolan. She was a member of Tiffin Alliance Church. Elatha was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Canton, where she taught the kindergarten Sunday school class for 35 years.
She served for many years as the chairman of the administrative board at Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Challenger's Class. Elatha was very active in Bible studies and prayer circles, and will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in October 2002 by her husband, Glenn Plaskett, whom she took great care of for the last 10 years; a son, Robert Plaskett; and a sister, Wanda Burkhart-Marvin.
Survivors include her son, Donald (Karen Kordisch) Plaskett of Palatine, Ill.; her daughter, Dianne (Craig) McKenzie of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Heather and Matthew McKenzie of Tiffin; a brother, Milphord Dolan of Massillon; and a sister, Patricia Baker of Akron.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, 705 Raff Road SW, Canton, Ohio, with Pastor George Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Alliance Church, SR 100, Tiffin.
