Jeanette Matilda Mitten, age 82, of Meadowbrook Place, Tiffin, died at 9:35 pm Monday, December 29, 2008 in the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born in Hancock County on October 14, 1926, to the late Frank X. and Florence K. (Goshe) Reinhart. On May 10, 1947 in St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church, Fostoria, she married Clarence Mitten and he survives.
Other survivors include, a son, David Mitten of Fostoria; two daughters, Marlene (Sam) Quillen of Bloomville, and Barbara (Mark) Armstrong of Carey; eight grandchildren, Mandi James, Matthew Quillen, Amanda Morris, Sarah Raines, Jacob Quillen, Caleb Quillen, Jackie Armstrong, Mark M. Armstrong; eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Bernard Reinhart of Florida and a sister, Carolyn Wilcox of Fostoria.
She is preceded in death by five sisters, Camilla Reinhart, Geneva Yost, Laura Schroth, Margery Hensley and Annabelle Reinhart.
Jeanette was a graduate of Arcadia High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society and a member of the Josephines.
The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka at 10:30 am, Friday, January 2, 2009 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 pm Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. There will be a Wake Service at 7:45 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Francis Chiara Center or to the American Heart Association in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
