Jeanetta Turner Howard, 88, of Tiffin, Ohio died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born January 6, 1925 in New Boston, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Ralph and Mary Edith (Colegrove) Turner. She married Lowell Bennett Howard June 16, 1947 at the New Boston Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2013.
Survivors include two sons, Lowell Bennett (Christine) Howard, Jr. of Powell, Ohio, and Brent Turner (Susan) Howard of Tiffin; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Spainhoward of Grandview Heights, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lowell Bennett Howard, III, Geoffrey Hamilton Briggs Howard, Andrew Turner Howard, Samuel Hering Howard, Natalie Lenton Howard, and Jackson Turner Spainhoward.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, William Frank Turner and Wells Colegrove Turner.
Jeanetta was a 1942 graduate of Glenwood High School in New Boston, Ohio. She attended Ohio University and The Ohio State University. She taught the third grade in elementary schools in New Boston and Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Sanford, Florida. She also taught in elementary schools in Jackson County, Ohio. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Tiffin, and previously a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Columbus, and First United Methodist Church, Athens, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at St. Francis Home Chapel, 182 St. Francis Ave. Tiffin, with visitation one half hour prior to the service. Rev. Paul Stark will officiate the service. Burial will be noon Monday, October 28, in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio.
