James Andrew Hurt, Sr. age 70 years of 133 Fifth Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio died in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital, Tiffin at 8:31 A.M. Thursday, May 13, 2004. He was born to Isaac and Florence (Blevins) Hurt on February 16, 1934.
On July 20, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio he married Ruth Duffey. She survives.

(Jody) Hurt, Jr. of Tiffin; Charles (Candee) Hurt of Tiffin; 2 daughters, Dora (Gary) Hossler, of Tiffin and Carolyn Hall of Winfield, West Virginia; 9 Grandchildren; 4 brothers, Emmett Hurt, of Michigan; Chauncey Hurt of Michigan; Dewerd Hurt of Indiana; Wade Hurt of Michigan; 9 sisters, Corine Stevens of Michigan; Delores Roberts of Michigan; Jenny Romero of Michigan; Pam Abels of Kentucky; Cathy Hurt of Michigan; Inez Hurt of Columbus, Ohio; Bessie Cannon of Columbus, Ohio and Joyce Stevens of Michigan.
He was preceded by a daughter, Patricia Gail Hurt; 2 sisters, Marie Welch and Lorene Hurt; 3 brothers, Ellis Hurt, Edward Hurt, Charles Russell Hurt and a grandson, Doug Hurt.
Mr. Hurt had retired welder from Tiffin Metal Products. He had also worked as a roofer at M.J. Brown Company, Tiffin. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
The funeral will be conducted by Pastor Brad Collette at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery (Egbert).
