James M. Cameron, age 78, of Tiffin died at 6:02 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Mercy Tiffin Hospital Emergency Room.
James was born July 6, 1935 in Wyandotte, Michigan to James W. and Helen L. (Mayle) Cameron. He married Thelma Terry on April 23, 1960 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church and she died December 16, 2011.
Survivors include five sons, Tom Cameron, Christopher (Lynette) Cameron, Timothy Cameron, K. Matthew Cameron all of Tiffin, Robert (Monica) Cameron of Vanderbilt, Michigan; one daughter Mary Cameron of Delaware, Ohio; Seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Thomas of Trenton, Michigan, Margaret Hippler of Bellevue, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter-in-law, Liz Cameron and two brother-in-laws, Jack Thomas and Clarence Hippler.
James was graduate of Trenton High School, Trenton, Michigan. He served in the National Guard. During his work life he was a dishwasher at the Pioneer Mill, brick maker at Basic, and worked maintenance at Tiffin Glass. James was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, a great friend of the N. Washington Street Pit-Stop Staff and loved Wii bowling.
Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Hannah Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Foundation, Autumnwood Activities Fund or a charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
