James Eugene Bour, 89, of Tiffin, died at 2 pm Monday, May 11, 2015, at Heritage Village Nursing Home, Clyde.

James was born November 30, 1925 in Tiffin to Raymond and Blandina (Rappelt) Bour. He married Donna Jean Digby July 17, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include five sons, Daniel E. (Tipka) Bour of Thailand, Laurence E. (Dora) Bour, Thomas A. Bour both of Tiffin, James J. (Linda) Bour of  Plymouth, Ronald S. Bour of Tiffin; six daughters, Dianne M. Smith, Deborah A. (Michael) Schoen, Theresa J. (Kent) Hoffman all of Tiffin, Mary A. (Chris) Capitola of Las Vegas, Nev., Sue (Bob) Gahris of Mesa, Ariz., Angela Getz of Massillon; 28 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Carter, Jeanne (Richard) Keiffer both of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Bour; two sisters, Mary James, Betty Bender; a granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Hoffman; and one great grandchild.

James was a 1944 graduate of Calvert Catholic High School.  He served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1945, was a mechanic for 32 years at Bob's Marathon before retiring in 1987. James also worked at the Tiffin Bake Shop. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Moose, DAV and V.F.W.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113 with a wake service will be at 8 p.m.

Prayers will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30  a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church Activity Center, officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka.  The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the Center.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the United Veterans Council

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care in care of the funeral home.
