Ilene H. Kuhn, age 80, of Bascom, died at 4:15 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at her residence.
Ilene was born on January 24, 1929 in Seneca County to the late John and Frances (Ruehle) Mackling. On October 17, 1953 she married Bernard Kuhn in St. Joseph Catholic Church and he died on October 25, 1984.
Ilene is survived by one son; Bernie Kuhn of Bascom; one daughter Caroline (Rodney) Robbins of Bascom; two grandchildren, Makenzie (Jon) Hall of Tiffin and Tyler Robbins of Bascom; two brothers, Leonard Mackling of Woodman, KY, and Wilbur Mackling of Tiffin; two sisters, June Huth of Tiffin, and her twin sister, Arlene Clouse of Bascom.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Myron and Paul Mackling; and two sisters, Leona Printz and Marian Briney.
Ilene was a homemaker and had worked for the Tiffin Glass Factory, Pann Products and the Commission on Aging of Fostoria. She was a 50 year member of the New Riegel American Legion, the Bascom Right to Life, the Seneca County Historical Society, and the Tiffin Glass Club. Ilene enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and collecting Tiffin Glass.
Family and friends may call from 2-7 PM, Friday, September 11, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. A wake service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Seneca Memory Gardens. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass.
Contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary Catholic School, F.A.C.T. or to Community Hospice Care.
