Howard M. Seipp Jr., 85, of Jackson Street, Tiffin, died at 9:47 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2006 at St. Vincent Mercy-Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born September 23, 1920 in Tiffin, OH to the late Howard M. and Cladie (Baker)(Pfleiderer) Seipp Sr. On November 23, 1968 in Tiffin, OH he married Rita M. Hoffman who survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters; Judy (Chris) Hafley and Suzanne (Ken) Schock both of Tiffin, 6 grandchildren; Amanda, Lindsey, Lauren and Luke Hafley, Ian and Jessica Schock, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother Vern Pfleiderer and a half sister Helen Fruth.
Mr. Seipp, a 1938 graduate of Republic High School, and earned an Associate Degree from Tiffin University in 1940. He was a driver for Coca-Cola in Tiffin for 23 years and retired after 18 years as an assembler at National Machinery, Tiffin. He enjoyed serving children at the intersection of Miami and Elmer Streets as a crossing guard for the last 9 years. He was an avid bowler and his 738 series in 1949 was high series at the Bowl-O-Drome for a number of years.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, VFW Post 2858, Tiffin and Golden Age Eagle Aerie 402, Tiffin.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2006 at Traunero Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
