Howard Ray Hiett, 80, of Tiffin, died at 4:52 pm Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay.
Howard was born November 4, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Coy Washington and Devona Bethel (Rogers) Hiett. He married Carol Jean Ladd on July 11, 1964, in Bell County, Texas, and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include two daughters, Teresa Traxler of Tiffin and Angelique (Timothy Rockwell) Nelson of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; three granddaughters, Samantha (Kyle) Struble, Sarah (Marshall) Traxler-Lamming, and Sabrina Nelson; a brother, Don (Carolynn) Hiett; three sisters, Betty Gunter, Martha Jones, and Cathy Cassady; a sister-in-law, Joyce Hiett; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: and a brother, James Edward Hiett.
Howard proudly joined and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1969 as a Drill Sergeant, Tank Commander, and E6 Staff Sergeant, after which he was employed at National Machinery from 1969 until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed gardening and working on anything mechanical. Howard was a member of the Family of Faith Lutheran Church, the National Machinery Quarter Century Club, and the Seneca Masonic Lodge #790.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Family of Faith Lutheran Church, located at the back of the Tiffin Mall, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at the church officiated by Pastor Philip Moerdyk.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Family of Faith Building Fund.
