He was born January 10, 1927 in Sylvania to Burton and Alfreda (Petit) Fuhrer. He married Anna Marie Bare in July of 1956 in Indiana. She died February 11, 1994.
Survivors include six sons, David (Becky) Fuhrer of Tiffin, Dennis (Virginia) Fuhrer of Spain, Jon (Carlyle) Fuhrer, Jeff (Cindy) Fuhrer, Brad (Wendy) Fuhrer, Mark (Laurie) Fuhrer all of Tiffin; a daughter, Shelley (Alan) Ewen of Monroe, Michigan; 22 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great-Grandchild; and a sister Evelyn Carlson of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Daniel Fuhrer; and three brothers, Don, Norm, and Fred Fuhrer.
Mr. Fuhrer was a graduate of Van Buren High School. He retired from the General Electric Company, of Tiffin. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW of Tiffin. He was an avid golfer and will be missed by his golfing buddies.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, 44883, 419-447-3113.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. John Alice officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
