Helen M. Painter, 93, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., formerly of Tiffin, died at 9:15 am Sunday, July 15, 2012, at her residence.
She was born February 20, 1919, in Seneca County, to John and Augusta (Souder) Ward. She married Howard E. Painter on January 23, 1938, in Fostoria, and he died in 1978.
Survivors include a son, Duane Painter of Chicago, two daughters, Helen Ann Barbour and Rosanne Painter-Mass, both of Fort Walton Beach, and a brother, Kent Ward of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Painter, and three sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Painter was a graduate of Fostoria High School and was a homemaker. She was a co-founder of the Ecumenical Sharing Kitchen at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in 1986. While in Tiffin, she was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Services and burial at Greenlawn Cemetery will be held at a later date.
