Helen Mary (Rice) Logsdon, 87, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:55 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH.

She was born March 11, 1919 in Erie, PA and raised in Jamestown, NY before moving to Cleveland, OH. She was a 1938 graduate of John Hayes High School in Cleveland and attended secretarial school.

Helen married Raymond Haferd Logsdon November 20, 1941 in Cleveland, OH. Her husband, Raymond, her mother, Caroline Rice Nygren, and her Step-father, Bert E. Nygren preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Patricia Logsdon, Denver CO., Maralyn Logsdon, LPCC, Bowling Green, OH, and Darlene, Tiffin; one granddaughter, Danielle (Brian) Steinhauser and a great-grandson, Zachary Steinhauser of Toledo, OH.

Prior to her marriage, Helen was an executive secretary in Cleveland, OH. She worked for 28 years at General Electric, Tiffin, OH, retiring in 1981. She was a member of GE Quarter Century Club, GE Retirees, GEWOTS, Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #402 and Seneca Rose Grandmothers.

Helen loved her family and was a true friend to all she knew. Her love to travel took her not only all over the United States including Alaska and Hawaii, but also to Europe. She was a talented artist and avid gardener. Her legendary and beautiful flower gardens were featured in newspapers and won her awards.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin. 44883 (419) 447-3113. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Right Revd. Dr. S.R. Sanchez, Arch Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
