Hazel M. Cochran Meisner Steinmetz, 92, of Sandusky, formerly of Tiffin, died at 9:45 am Friday, February 8, 2013, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 27, 1920, in Crawford County, Ohio, to William L. and Florence L. (Turney) Cochran. She married Paul E. Meisner April 5, 1941, and he died March 8, 1988. She then married J. Robert Steinmetz April 21, 1990, and he died February 16, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Paul Eugene (Marcia) Meisner of Alvada; two daughters, Patricia (Charles) Renwand of Castalia, and Deborah (Jerry) Gause of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson; and a sister, Lucille Butzier of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five brothers, Harold, Robert, Earl, Turney and John Cochran; two sisters, Kathryn Rogers and Helen Dicken.
Mrs. Steinmetz was a 1938 graduate of Melmore High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of VFW Post 2858, Tiffin.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin at a later date.
