GROVER L. LEOPOLD

Grover L. Leopold, age 79, of Venice, Florida, died April 28, 2001, in Tiffin. He was born to Harry L. and Louva (Moreland) Leopold. His first wife, Marjorie I. (Mohr) Leopold, died March 24, 1981. He married Marian (Bonnie) Schwab on October 9, 1982, and she survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory D. and Rebecca Leopold; a stepson, Frank Schwab; a step daughter, Kaye Arkangel, 2 grandchildren, and 4 stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Leopold, and a half-brother, Eugene Smith. Mr. Leopold retired as an auditor for the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles. Prior to that, he was a Deputy for the Seneca County Sheriff Department. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Tiffin, Christ United Methodist Church, Venice, Tiffin Elks Lodge, United Commercial Travelers, and the Masonic Order. He was an active bowler and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and travel. He was a Columbian High School graduate and a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, having served as a flight engineer on B17's and B29's operating in the Pacific Theater. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Tiffin, or Christ United Methodist Church, Venice, FL, or Tiffin Columbian High School Football Department.
