Geraldine D. “Gerry” Borer, 83, of Tiffin, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Elmwood at the Shawhan.
She was born June 1, 1938, in Fostoria, to Aloysius J. and Pauline E. (Wagner) Boff. She married Michael D. Borer June 29, 1957, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Michael died May 20, 2018.
She is survived by two sons, David M. (Deborah) Borer of Tiffin, and Frederick J.(Stephen D. Wills) Borer of London; two daughters, Debra M. (Mark) Reamer of Tiffin, and Denise M. (Michael) Brickner of Plain City; seven grandchildren, Andrea M. Reamer, Nicole D. (Dalton) Stancil, Daniel M. (Meagan) Reamer, Kiele N. Reamer, Allyson M. Brickner, Griffin M. Brickner, Matthew P. Brickner; three step-grandchildren, Valerie Feasel, Stephanie Johnson, Andrew Bish; three brothers, Edwin Boff of Gibsonburg, and Thomas Boff of Indianapolis and John Boff of Asheville, NC; and four sisters, Donna Sanders of Ashland, Dorene Harden of Tiffin, Susie Decker of Arcadia, and Patricia Miller of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Donald Boff.
Mrs. Borer was a 1956 graduate of St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria. She had worked as a bookkeeper at San Mar Pharmacy and Rite-Aid. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, OSU basketball, she enjoyed attending Silver Sneakers, loved to bake, and attending her grandchildren’s activities and sports.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A Wake Service will be 5 p.m. The family respectfully requests that attendees wear masks.
Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Matthew Rader will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in church 30 minutes prior to Mass.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, F.A.C.T. or to Elmwood at the Shawhan.
