George D. Ford

George D. Ford, 77, of Tiffin, died at 4:55 am Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

He was born August 23, 1936, in Floyd County, Ky., to Thomas L. and Molly (Ramey) Ford.  He married Mindy Frase October 30, 1982, in Tiffin, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Dave) Martini of Cincinnati, and Geneva Rae (Mel) Greer of Findlay; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Ford.

Mr. Ford was a 1956 graduate of Prestonsburg, Ky. High School and was a graduate of Morehead University, American University of Washington, DC, and Tiffin University.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1962.  He was a retired accounting controller at Roppe Corporation, Fostoria, and he was a financial advisor for Tiffin VFW Post 2858.  He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Services will be 11 am Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Donna Van Trees and the United Veterans Council of Seneca County officiating.  Private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church.
