Geneva Mae Fitzgerald, age 84, of Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, and formerly of S. TR. 1068 Melmore, Ohio died at 6:40 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2006.
She was born January 29, 1922 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Luther and Maude (Peer) Sours. On December 7, 1946 she married Guy W. Fitzgerald, Jr.in Tiffin, who died on April 5, 1979.
She is survived by 2 sons, Guy W. Fitzgerald, III and David E. Fitzgerald both of Tiffin; 4 daughters, Deena Lee(Charles)Miller of Tiffin; Pam M.(Don) Biller of Melmore; Daria Ann (Ben) Sweazy of Omaha, NE; Kathy A.(Mike)Yost of Tiffin; and an adopted Grandson, Todd T. Fitzgerald; 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Luther and David Sours.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was a graduate of Columbian High School, a homemaker, and had been a foster mother for 17 years. She enjoyed her cats, crocheting, going to the Seneca County Fair and flea markets. She was a past member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, Tiffin with Pastor John Halstead officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113 and from 10-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18 at the church. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Pleasant Veiw Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio.
