Gail Marie "Mayme" Elchert, age 91, of Tiffin, Ohio, died June 30, 2001 at Autumnwood Care Center. She was formerly of 168 Walker Street, Tiffin. She was born to Simon O'Dell and Zella (Benjamin) Kear. She married Reuben Elchert on February 25, 1930 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died in 1994.
Other survivors include 2 sons, Robert E. Elchert of Tiffin; Donald H. Elchert of Tiffin; 1 daughter, Carol Bain of Tiffin; 16 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; 5 Step Great Grandchildren; 1 Step Great-Great Grandchild; 2 brothers, Russell Kear of Tiffin; Darl Kear of Bucyrus, Oh; and 1 sister, Mrs. Duane (Imogene) Burgderfer. She is preceded by 3 brothers, Ralph, Willis, and Donald Kear; 5 sisters, Mabel Davis, Edith Heebsh, Bernita Hoerig, Marion Kear, and Colletta Kear; 3 grandsons, Bill Bain who died in 1995, and Danny and Tommy Bain died in infancy.
Mrs. Elchert was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will take place immediately following the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Donor's Choice.
