Frank J. Sehlhorst, age 78, of Jefferson Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 4:30 pm, Sunday, December 17, 2006 in St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born on December 19, 1927 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary (Baxter) Sehlhorst. He married Florence McDougle and they divorced. He then married LaDonna Mowery on May 9, 1995 and she died on October 24, 2005.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Sehlhorst of Plano, Texas; Anthony (Paula) Sehlhorst of Bloomville, Ohio; David (Julie) Sehlhorst of Ottawa, Ohio; five daughters, Diane Creamer, of Pioneer Ohio; Sue Hill and Cathy Ricard both of Findlay, Ohio; Donna (Joe) Powers of Walbridge, Ohio; Cindy (Tyrone) Morrow of Stafford, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Craig and Edna Moore.
Mr. Sehlhorst attended St. Anthony’s School, Columbus Grove. He served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Army. He had owned the Chow House in Ottawa, Ohio then in 1960 he opened Napoli’s Pizza, Tiffin which he also managed. He also cooked for the L & K and the Iron Gate Restaurants. He also tended bar at many locations. He was a member of the American Legion and the Amvets.
