Eugene W. Lucius, age 65, of 3052 S. CR 591 Tiffin, Ohio, died at 8:45 A.M. December 8, 2002 in Mercy Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on September 1, 1937 to Louis and Pauline (Wank) Lucius. He married Alice Brose on October 12, 1957 in St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada, Ohio. She survives.
Other survivors include, 3 sons, Dan (Kim) Lucius, Tom (Shirley) Lucius, both of Tiffin; Mark (Phyllis) Lucius of New Riegel, Ohio; 1 daughter, Donna (John) Poignon of Tiffin; 9 grandchildren, Andrew, Drew, Jeremy, Adam, Theresa, Brandon, Jared, Marisa, and Megan; 3 brothers, Marion Lucius and Herman Lucius, both of Tiffin; and Virgil Lucius of Camarillo, California, 3 sisters, Alice (Emil, Jr.) Siegle, New Riegel; Rose Mary (Douglas) Brown, Willard, Ohio; Helen Ring, Twinsburg, Ohio. He is preceded by 3 brothers, Joseph, Louis Paul, and Leo J. Lucius.
Mr. Lucius attended New Riegel High School. He retired in 1999 after 44 years as a molder at Webster Manufacturing Company. He also co-owned E & R Construction Company. He was a very active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, a member of New Riegel Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, camping, walking, and was a handyman/carpenter.
Contributions may be made to Pheasants Forever or to St. Boniface Cemetery Chapel Fund. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral Mass in the parish cemetery.
