Eugene P. "Nips" Gaietto, 69, of Tiffin, died at 1:55 p.m. on September 13, 2000 in Autumnwood Care Center. He was born to Louis and Irma M. (Roos) Gaietto on November 9, 1930. His mother survives in Tiffin. On November 6, 1954 he married Arlene Shetterly at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael and Jeff Gaietto; five daughters, Mrs. David (Kathleen) Cummings, Linda Sue Gaietto, Mrs. Steve (Doris) Zirger, Mrs. Dan (Bonnie) Fortin, and Mrs. Tom (Shelly) Coffman; five brothers, Vincent Gaietto, Lawrence Gaietto, Louis Gaietto, Tom Gaietto, and Joseph Gaietto; three sisters, Mrs. Art (Margaret) Schleter, Mrs. Ivan (Irma Rose) Hill, and Sr. Angela; and 11 grandchildren.
He was a 1948 Calvert High School graduate. He retired in 1986 after 35 years as Foreman at General Electric. He was a member of the Sandusky Valley Riders, Moose Lodge, and the G.E. Rifle Club. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery directly after the funeral Mass.
