Eugene Distel, age 83, of 37 Westwood Drive, Tiffin, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001. He was born to Arthur J. and Cora K. (Shultz) Distel. He is survived by his wife, Clara. Other survivors include, 4 sons, David A. Distel; Dennis E. Distel; Dean(Anthony)Distel; and Jack Distel; 1 daughter, Jean C. Dom; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Howard Distel; Robert Distel; James Distel; Richard Distel; and John "Butch" Distel, and 5 sisters, Mrs. Paul (Henreitta) Smyser, SR. Joan of Arc, OSU; Mrs. Will (Dorothy) Dickson; Mrs. John (Agnes) Zeiger and SR. St. Martin, OSU.
Mr. Distel was a 1936 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin, Ohio. He completed 1 year at the University of Detroit. He was a member of the Air Force 8th Infantry. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Third Degree Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #608, the New Life Heart Club, and the Retirees Golf League at Seneca Hills Golf Course.
