Elmer H. Weimerskirch, age 84 of St.Francis Ave. Tiffin, Ohio died at 1:40 A.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin, Ohio. He was born on September 10, 1920, in Tiffin, Ohio to the late August and Ida (Blechinger) Weimerskirch. In 1945 in Norwich, England he married Ruth Fry, who died on June 11, 1999.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Beverly (Fred) Hartman of Tiffin, 2 granddaughters, Kim Weisenauer of Tiffin; and Lori Ohms of Fremont; 3 great grandchildren; Alec Weisenauer, Ellie and Meghan Ohms; 2 brothers, Carl and James Weimerskirch both of Tiffin; and 1 sister, Maryann Koby of Tiffin. 1 brother, Paul Weimerskirch preceded him in death.
Mr. Weimerskirch was a 1938 Columbian High School graduate. He was in the United States Army Air Corps as a Sergeant during WWII from 1942-1945. He had retired from National Machinery in 1980 as a tool and dye operator. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Quarter Century Club and the American Legion. Mr. Weimerskirch enjoyed walking, swimming and playing shuffleboard.
Rev. Richard Dunn will officiate the Funeral Mass on Friday, December 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Home Chapel. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
