Elizabeth C. "Betty" Elchert, age 68, of Tiffin, died Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at her residence. She was born September 14, 1932, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to Ralph and Lucille (Leahy) Sattler. On May 7, 1955, in St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, she married Robert Elchert, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jim and Mark Elchert; three daughters, Jayne McCormack, Judy Ruhlen, and Karen Williams; two brothers, Stan and Tom Sattler; five sisters, Jeanette Krout, Lois Bruce, Barbara Russell, Patricia Relitz, and Donna Mocniak; and thirteen grandchildren.
Mrs. Elchert was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital, having retired after many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, the YMCA, and was an avid bridge player and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a graduate of the Toledo Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin, or St. Joseph School Library.
