Edward L. Nusbaum, age 72, of First Ave., Tiffin, died at 12:44 am, Monday, February 4, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 16, 1935 in Tiffin to the late Ralph Edward and Josephine Mildred (Bridinger) Nusbaum. On January 22, 1955 in Tiffin, he married Shirley Ann Firestone.

Mr. Nusbaum is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Mark E. (Connie) Nusbaum and daughter Julie L. (Mark Schreiner) Canterbury, and Daughter-in-Law Becky Nusbaum, all of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, Brandon Nusbaum, Amber Rettig, Lindsay Nusbaum, Tasha (Philip Price) Canterbury, Joshua Canterbury, Brianne Nusbaum, and Danielle Nusbaum; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Justin, and Chloe Rettig; niece Cindy Weber; three brothers, Bobby M. (Diane) Nusbaum of Tiffin, Jerry L. Nusbaum of Upper Sandusky; and Terry L. (Elaine) Nusbaum of Tiffin; and four sisters, Jackie S. Depp, Vicki J. (Donald) Bauer, Georgia A. Nusbaum, and Marian Sherwood, all of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Doug Nusbaum and a sister, Twila John.

Edward enlisted in the Army in 1955. He had been a firefighter in Tiffin for 27 years when he retired in 1990. He also worked at Tiffin Ford in the parts and service department, Ranker’s Sinclair service station, and at the Betty Jane Center for 17 years in the maintenance department. Edward was also a member of Tiffin Eagles Aerie 402.

He enjoyed camping, traveling, trips to Windsor, and spending time with his family.

Friends and family may gather for a graveside service at 11am, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Fairmont Cemetery with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. A memorial dinner will follow at the Tiffin Eagles club.
