Edna G. Almendinger, age 100, formerly of West Market Street, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at 2:55 AM at Autumnwood Care Center of Tiffin.
She was born on September 14, 1908 to the late Herbert and Iona (Hinamon) Brewer in Marion, Ohio.
Mrs. Almendinger married Nolon B. Almendinger on May 24, 1930 in Marion. He died June 7, 1994.
Survivors include: one son, John Almendinger of Fremont; one grandson, Todd Almendinger of Port Clinton; five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa, Katie, Megan and Ashley Almendinger; and one sister, Barbara Purvis of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Kim Almendinger on August 3, 1994; one brother, Delmar Brewer; and one sister, Mary Sappington.
Mrs. Almendinger graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1925 and was a 1927 graduate of Bowling Green University. She was a teacher in Prospect Ohio. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Kum Double Class, Order of Eastern Star # 189, and the Tiffin Women’s Club where she was past president.
Funeral services for Mrs. Almendinger will be at 1 PM, Monday, August 24, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. Burial will be immediately following in Fairmont Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Monday, August 24, 2009 at the funeral home.
