Dorothy Mae Ward, age 83, of SR 100, Sycamore, died at 5:05 am, Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Ruffing Family Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born March 2, 1925, in Seneca County, to the late Clyde and Esta Mae (Youngpeter) Bibbee. On February 10, 1945, in Tiffin, she married August E. Ward, who died April 18, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Chris M. (Mary) Ward of Sycamore, and two daughters, Lucy Euvrard of Hamilton, Ohio, and Margie (Ron) Hull of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Jessica Roten, Illaina Euvrard, Adrian Euvrard, Jacob Ward, Emily Ward, Abby Ward, Kara Lopp, and Leah Hull; three great grandchildren, Claire Roten, Isaac Ward, Molly Ward; and two sisters, Regina Courtney of Tiffin, and Leona Einsel of Attica.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Bibbee, and a sister, Helen (Bibbee) Kiesel.
Mrs. Ward was retired from the kitchen at St. Francis Home, Tiffin, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening and reading.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 17, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday, May 16, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. A Wake Service will be 7:45 pm Friday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited in church fifteen minutes prior to Mass.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or to F.A.C.T. (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment).
