Dorothy Marie Kear, 83, formerly of State Route 53, Tiffin, died at 3:10 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
She was born on April 18, 1924 in Tiffin to the late William and Marguerite (Brinkman) Wahrer. On January 2, 1943, she married Russell Kear in St. Mary Catholic Church and he survives.
Other survivors include son Michael (Sally) Kear of Lantana, Florida; daughter Gail Marie (Dennis) Eichinger of Reedsville, Ohio; daughter-in-law Diane Kear of Findlay; six grandchildren, Amy (Ernie) Toth, Jody (Richard) McDonald, Scott Kear, Kris Wilson, Michelle Link, and Dane Eichinger; four great-grandchildren, Bradley Link, Annie Link, Clayton Toth, and Ryder McDonald; and one brother, Robert (Margie) Wahrer of Sycamore.
Mrs. Kear was preceded in death by son David Kear.
She was a 1942 graduate of Calvert High School being the Valedictorian that year. Mrs. Kear was a real estate saleswoman and Office Manager at Jim Wilson Realty, worked in the office at Tiffin Glass House, worked in the office and in retail at LaSalle’s Department Store in Tiffin, and was a beautician for almost 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and going to casinos. Mrs. Kear was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
There will be a private funeral for Mrs. Kear on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Tiffin. There will be no visitation per family request.
